Full Job Description Part-Time Tow Truck Operator:
Join Our Emergency Response Team Are you a skilled driver with a passion for helping people out of tough spots? Do you have the mechanical know-how to be a roadside hero? We're looking for a reliable and professional Part-Time Tow Truck Operator to join our team and provide essential, high-quality service to our community. This isn't just a driving job—it's an opportunity to be the calm, professional face that helps a stranded motorist turn their bad day around. Clean Driving Record, and Clean Criminal History, ability to pass a DOT Physical and Drug Test are all required for this position! Do not apply if you do not fit this criteria Your Impact & Key Responsibilities As a Tow Truck Operator, you'll be the critical link between a breakdown and a fix.
Your responsibilities will include:
Roadside Assistance:
Safely and efficiently operating a tow truck to transport disabled, damaged, or impounded vehicles to designated locations (repair shops, impound lots, etc.).
Customer Service Excellence:
Providing empathetic, professional service to all customers, clearly explaining the process, and managing stressful situations with a calm demeanor.
Mechanical Troubleshooting:
Applying your basic mechanical knowledge to perform minor roadside diagnostics and repairs when possible (e.g., jump-starts, tire changes).
Equipment Management:
Performing regular inspections and maintenance checks to ensure your tow truck is always in safe, working condition.
Safety First:
Expertly and safely loading/unloading vehicles, utilizing flatbed procedures, and operating forklifts (when necessary) in compliance with all safety regulations.
What You Bring Experience:
Proven commercial driving experience with a spotless driving record is a must. Prior experience with flatbed towing procedures is highly valued.
Skills:
Strong foundational mechanical and automotive diagnostics knowledge for basic roadside service.
Customer Focus:
Exceptional conflict management and customer service skills —you're a clear communicator who can handle high-pressure interactions.
Requirements:
A valid Driver's License and the ability to pass a thorough background check. Residence location must be within our required response times for high priority calls. Experience with general automotive repair is a significant plus!
