Commercial Drivers License A Truck Driver

Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dependable and safety-focused CDL Class A Truck Driver to join our team. The driver will be responsible for transporting wood chips, lumber, and other wood products between mill facilities, storage yards, customers, and processing locations while maintaining compliance with all DOT and company safety standards. Key Responsibilities Safely operate Class A commercial vehicles, including tractor-trailers, chip vans, and flatbed trailers. Transport wood chips, lumber, and other wood products to designated locations. Secure lumber loads using straps, binders, and other approved load securement methods. Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and complete required paperwork. Maintain accurate driver logs, delivery records, and inspection reports. Follow all DOT regulations, company policies, and safety procedures. Communicate effectively with dispatch, mill personnel, and customers. Report vehicle maintenance issues and coordinate repairs as needed. Assist with loading and unloading when required. Operate safely in varying weather, road, and mill yard conditions. Qualifications Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL-A). Clean driving record and ability to meet DOT requirements. Experience hauling lumber, wood products, flatbed freight, agricultural products, or similar loads preferred. Knowledge of load securement practices and DOT regulations. Strong safety awareness and attention to detail. Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work independently. Physical Requirements Ability to enter and exit truck cabs multiple times per day. Ability to secure loads using straps and binders. Ability to lift up to 50 pounds. Pay:
$29.19 - $35.15 per hour
