Overview We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Underground Utilities Locator with a valid CDL to join our team (without CDL you will still be considered but it may impact wages). In this role, you will be responsible for accurately locating underground utilities to ensure safe excavation and construction practices. Your expertise in various driving and equipment operation will be essential in supporting our operations while adhering to safety standards. Responsibilities Adhere to all safety, OSHA and DNR regulations that we may be subject to on a jobsite. Utilize technology and skills to pinpoint the locations and depths of underground utilities including water, sewer, gas, cable and electric. utilizing a combination of stakes, flags and paints. Clear understanding of hazards and obstructions of those utilities. Knowledge of a variety of locating techniques to include the use of GPS, electrical, magnetic and radar surveying equipment as well as utility maps. Ability to record keep and provide reports to teams and clients. Excellent communication with Foreman, crews and contractors on worksite. Strong attention to detail. Must be able to walk / travel all areas of job site including hilly or unstable ground to ensure thorough inspection. Dependability and good attendance, including an ability to be called upon for overtime or emergency jobs as needed. Skills Proficient in truck driving with experience in commercial driving, including delivery driver experience. Ability to operate various types of vehicles, including flatbeds, tankers, and dump trucks. Familiarity with forklift operation is a plus. Strong understanding of route driving principles and logistics management. Excellent attention to detail and ability to work independently or as part of a team. Strong communication skills for effective collaboration with team members and clients.
