Ride Operator - Sac Zoo Sacramento Zoo - 4.0 Sacramento, CA Job Details Part-time $16.90 an hour 16 hours ago Benefits Employee discount Flexible schedule Qualifications High school diploma or GED Driver's License Patrolling Train operations Full Job Description Under the supervision and general direction of the Guest Services Manager - Safety & Operations, the Ride Operator provides a safe and entertaining amusement ride experience for all visitors of the Sacramento Zoo. A Ride Operator must be able to work amusement rides, including, but not limited to: Carousel, Train and Giraffe Feeding. This is a part-time position. The Ride Operator must be available to work weekends and some evenings.

Roles and Responsibilities:

Follow appropriate policies to load/unload guests from the Carousel and Train; and SAFELY drive Train through pre-designated route; follow procedures to assist guest in feeding giraffes. Follow detailed procedures, while instructing guests clearly and pleasantly. Complete daily safety checks as assigned. Keep work area(s) clean and organized. Greet visitors with excellent customer service. Assist in lost child procedures. Assist in emergency situations. Perform related duties as assigned by the Safety and Security Manager.

Qualifications:

Must have a Driver's License for at least 2 years with an excellent, insurable record. Have excellent physical response to many situations. Be aware of surroundings at all times. Enthusiastic and cheerful demeanor. Provide excellent customer service. 1 year previous customer service experience preferred. High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Hours:

This is a part-time position with variable hours.

Physical Requirements:

Ability to stand, walk, and patrol Zoo grounds for extended periods, at times under adverse weather conditions. Ability to lift, carry, push or pull object weighing up to fifty (50) pounds.
