Job Summary The Maintenance of Way (MOW) Track Operator-level employees are responsible for safely and efficiently operating a variety of heavy machinery such as excavators, bulldozers, backhoes, loaders, grapple trucks, as well as on-track equipment such as tampers, regulators, tie removers/inserters, spikers, and spike pullers to support construction activities. Typical daily duties include inspecting equipment prior to use, reading and interpreting site plans or grade stakes, following instructions from supervisors and foremen, and collaborating with ground crews to complete tasks according to project timelines. Operators are expected to perform minor routine maintenance, report mechanical issues, and always maintain a clean and safe work area. This role requires strong situational awareness, mechanical aptitude, and a commitment to safety. The ideal Track Operator thrives in a fast-paced outdoor environment and is capable of working independently or as part of a team to meet production goals and project specifications. Qualifications & Experience Experience:
Proven success as a MOW Track Worker; vocational training or prior experience in heavy equipment operation, repair, and maintenance preferred.
Technical Skills:
Strong mechanical aptitude; ability to operate construction equipment and read blueprints, site plans, and grade stakes.
Licensing:
Valid state driver's license (company qualified); CDL required for specific operating positions.
Availability:
Willingness to work flexible hours (nights/weekends) and travel overnight. 2.
