  • Marine International Flooring & Protective Coatings, Inc. (IFPC) is seeking a QA Assistant
  • Marine to support quality assurance activities on government and commercial marine projects throughout the Hampton Roads area.
This is an excellent opportunity for a QA Inspector with 1-3 years of experience who wants to build their career in marine construction and ship repair. Position Responsibilities Perform and assist with daily quality inspections on marine and ship repair projects. Verify work is performed in accordance with project specifications, drawings, procedures, and quality requirements. Document inspections, test results, deficiencies, and corrective actions. Maintain accurate QA/QC records and project documentation. Review drawings, specifications, work instructions, and inspection requirements. Identify quality issues and communicate findings to Project Managers, Superintendents, Foremen, and field personnel. Follow up on deficiencies to ensure corrective actions are completed and documented. Assist with material receiving inspections and verification of required certifications. Support customer, government, and internal quality inspections. Assist with maintaining project quality documentation from start through completion. Work closely with field operations to promote consistent quality and compliance. Qualifications 1-3 years of experience as a QA/QC Inspector or Quality Inspector. Marine construction, ship repair, coatings, industrial construction, or government contracting experience preferred. Ability to read and understand drawings, specifications, and work instructions. Strong attention to detail and documentation skills. Ability to identify quality issues and communicate them professionally. Basic proficiency with Microsoft Office and computer-based documentation. Ability to work independently while also supporting a project team. Must be comfortable working in active shipyard and marine construction environments. Ability to pass required background checks and obtain necessary shipyard access. QA/QC, OSHA, coatings, welding, or marine-related certifications are a plus. Work Environment This position will work in active shipyard, marine construction, and industrial environments and may require walking, climbing, standing for extended periods, and working around ongoing construction activities. Compensation $24.00
