Position:
Scale House Operator
Job Type:
Full-Time About the Position Superior Skilled Trades is seeking reliable and detail-oriented Scale House Operators to join our team. The Scale House Operator is responsible for accurately weighing incoming and outgoing trucks, recording material information, processing tickets, and maintaining accurate daily records. This is a great opportunity for someone who is comfortable working with drivers, computers, paperwork, and a fast-paced industrial or construction environment.
PAY:
$21/hr-$25/hr
HOURS:
8-hour workdays (with potential overtime)
SCHEDULE
Monday-Friday; 8:00 AM - 5:30 PM
START DATE:
9/28/26 (3-6 months, temp to hire) Responsibilities Operate truck scales and accurately record vehicle weights
Record gross, tare, and net weights
Check trucks in and out of the facility
Prepare and issue weight tickets
Enter truck, customer, material, and weight information into computer systems
Verify load information, purchase orders, and delivery documentation
Communicate with truck drivers, dispatchers, customers, and plant personnel
Direct trucks to appropriate loading and unloading areas
Monitor truck traffic entering and leaving the facility
Maintain accurate daily production, material, and weight records
Identify and report discrepancies or overweight loads
Assist with billing and payment processing when required
Maintain an organized and professional scale house
Follow all company safety policies and site traffic procedures
Perform other duties as assigned Qualifications Previous scale house, trucking, dispatch, logistics, construction, quarry, landfill, or materials-handling experience preferred
Basic computer and data-entry skills
Strong attention to detail and accuracy
Good communication and customer service skills
Basic math skills
Ability to work independently and stay organized
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Reliable attendance and strong work ethic
High school diploma or equivalent preferred Physical Requirements Ability to sit and/or stand for extended periods
Ability to occasionally walk around an active industrial or construction site
Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
Must follow all required PPE and safety procedures
Ability to stand, bend, walk, push, pull, and lift for extended periods.
Standard PPE required.
Ability to work in a loud manufacturing environment
Must be able to lift and handle materials as required by the job
Drug screen required
Additional Requirements:
• Must be eligible to work in the United States
• Must have reliable transportation to the job site
