Job Description

PRIMARY DUTY
The primary purpose of this position is to provide safe and timely transportation of residents and staff to and from designated locations following established safety and transportation procedures. Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Assist in planning, developing, organizing, implementing, and evaluating the activity programs of this facility. Observe resident attendance, mood, behavior, and degree of involvement so that facility activities and resident progress are evaluated, by noting, reporting, and charting resident behavior. Involve the resident/family in planning activity programs when possible Interview Residents or family members to obtain activity information. Participate in community planning related to the interests of the facility and the services and needs of the resident and family. Implement and follow activity policies and procedures as directed by the Activity Director. Involve the resident/family in planning objectives and goals for the resident. Provide supervision for the volunteer program. Assists other staff as needed. Transport residents, staff, volunteers, and others to scheduled events Coordinate transportation services with appropriate staff members Assists residents in and out of the vehicle, using proper safety procedures Operates mechanical lift as required for wheelchair bound patients Complies with traffic regulations to operate vehicle in a safe and courteous manner Follows written and verbal geographic directions (such as maps or GPS directions) Responsible for the timely arrival of residents to and from appointments outside of the facility (flexible work hours as appropriate to appointment requirements)
Qualifications:
Previous experience with activities, preferably in a healthcare setting. Must have good communication skills and the ability to interact well with others. Class F driving endorsement.
