Job Description

Columbus school district is hiring for a morning and afternoon route driver to transport students Good driving record Certification by American Red Cross for first aid is desirable Ability to work without close supervision Ability to work cooperatively with students, staff, parents and community Ability to respond positively to diverse needs of students Must complete the department of motor vehicle driver background check. Ability to transport students in a school provided vehicle or personal vehicle under the direction of the supervisor. Ability to lift a minimum of fifty pounds
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Transport students safely to various places. Supervise students during enroute times. Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about all student records and school business discussions as is expected of all school staff members. Knowledge of safety practices. Interpersonal skills to get along with supervisor, staff, students, parents, and community. Maintain district vehicles in the forms of cleanliness and report any maintenance issues with district vehicles. The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or illegal substance in the workplace in compliance with District Policy & Regulation 4122.01 throughout his/her employment in the District. Staff member shall serve as a positive role model. Report any accident or vehicle concerns. Maintain an acceptable criminal background history as presented in Policy 4122. Performs such other duties as may be assigned.
