ExcelPrep offers two distinct programs designed to meet the needs of diverse learners ages 3-13: PreK-8 Academic Program Our PreK-8 Academic Program is grounded in Direct Instruction and Precision Teaching. Instruction focuses on core academic skills—reading, writing, and mathematics—using explicit, systematic teaching methods that emphasize mastery, fluency, and generalization. This program is designed for students with learning disabilities and neurodiverse profiles who benefit from structured, data-driven instruction. Clinical ABA Program (Ages 3-13) Our ABA Program is cognition-linguistically based, emphasizing cognitive skill and social behavior learning within a structured instructional environment. The program integrates Applied Behavior Analysis with teaching strategies that support language development, reasoning, executive functioning, and social competence. Instruction is individualized, data-driven, and focused on building foundational skills that support learning, communication, and independence. Across ExcelPrep Programs, We Center Direct Instruction and instructional design Precision Teaching and data-based decision making Instruction grounded in behavior science research Occupational Therapy as a prioritized therapy alongside ABA in support of sensory motor development Our Mission Our mission is to provide a nurturing, academically focused learning environment where neurodiverse students can develop strong academic foundations, cognitive-linguistic skills, and the confidence needed to succeed in school and beyond. Position Overview ExcelPrep is seeking a dependable, skilled, and proactive Building Maintenance Technician to support the daily operation, safety, and upkeep of our Bloomington campus. This individual will play a key role in maintaining a clean, secure, and fully functioning school environment that supports students, staff, and families. The ideal candidate takes pride in creating safe and welcoming spaces and understands the importance of a well-maintained facility in supporting student learning and staff effectiveness. Key Responsibilities Perform routine building maintenance and minor repairs, including plumbing, electrical, HVAC, lighting, carpentry, and general facility upkeep Conduct regular inspections of classrooms, common spaces, offices, restrooms, and outdoor areas Ensure the school building and grounds remain safe, clean, and operational Respond promptly to maintenance requests and facility-related issues Complete preventative maintenance tasks to reduce equipment failures and operational disruptions Coordinate with outside vendors and service providers for specialized repairs and inspections Support room setup and breakdown for meetings, events, and school activities Monitor building systems and report larger repair needs to administration Maintain maintenance logs, supply inventories, and repair records Assist in ensuring compliance with safety regulations, building codes, and school policies Help support emergency preparedness efforts, including facility readiness during inclement weather or urgent situations Qualifications Required High school diploma or equivalent Two or more years of building maintenance, facilities, custodial, or general repair experience Working knowledge of: Basic plumbing Electrical systems HVAC systems Carpentry General maintenance procedures Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities Strong communication skills and professionalism Ability to pass required background checks Preferred Experience working in a school, clinic, healthcare, or child-focused setting Trade certification or vocational training Knowledge of school safety procedures and compliance standards Experience with preventative maintenance scheduling and vendor coordination Physical Requirements Ability to lift, carry, push, or pull up to 50 pounds Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and perform manual tasks throughout the workday Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions as needed What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who: Values a safe, organized, and student-centered environment Works with a high level of professionalism, reliability, and initiative Understands the importance of supporting a mission-driven program serving neurodiverse students Takes pride in maintaining facilities that reflect care, consistency, and excellence Why Join ExcelPrep?
