Job Description

Starting Hourly Rate:
$23.00/hour The Endpoint Deployment Technician is responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of work-at-home endpoints — from building new assets to performing thorough quality assurance testing before equipment reaches employees. This role serves as the primary point of contact for new work-at-home endpoint requests, new hire class deployments, and required inventory management. The incumbent must be proactive in identifying potential issues, take independent ownership of their work, and maintain productive relationships across IT and partner departments. The ideal candidate finds satisfaction in doing the work well, takes pride in their work, and approaches each task with the same care and precision as the last. •This position is on-site at our Bloomington, IL headquarters.•
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
Endpoint Deployment Build and configure all work-at-home endpoints including full new hire class builds. Utilize Microsoft Intune for device enrollment, configuration, and management. Manage endpoint inventory to proactively ensure operational needs are met without disruption. Process and evaluate returned equipment from work-at-home staff for redeployment or retirement. Work closely with the logistics team to coordinate timely and accurate delivery of endpoints. Quality Assurance Testing Perform comprehensive quality checks on desktop computers, software configurations, and user accounts prior to deployment. Execute high-volume testing cycles — including testing 30 or more endpoints within a defined time frame — maintaining consistent accuracy and thoroughness across every unit without skipping steps as volume increases. Troubleshoot and resolve endpoint issues related to performance, user account access, security configurations, and software functionality. Document and report all endpoint-related incidents, anomalies, and resolutions with clear, actionable detail. Collaborate with partner teams (e.g., Solution Engineers, Identity Management) when testing surfaces issues, communicating findings clearly and following through to resolution. Hardware & Technical Support Perform entry-level desktop PC hardware tasks including, but not limited to, hard drive replacement, CMOS battery replacement, and BIOS configuration and troubleshooting. Apply analytical thinking to diagnose hardware and firmware issues methodically, isolating variables and working through scenarios without requiring escalation for routine problems. Stay current with endpoint management best practices, Windows OS updates, and emerging tools relevant to work-at-home environments. Shipping Prep Assemble and pack complete work-at-home kits to exact specification for safe transit, including dual monitors, desktop PC, and all required peripherals, cables, and accessories. Apply consistent packing standards to protect equipment from shipping damage, treating each kit with the same precision regardless of volume or time pressure. Coordinate with the logistics team on outbound shipment scheduling. Replacement & Support Ticket Management Manage an active ticket queue for work-at-home replacement requests, triaging incoming issues and driving each ticket to resolution in a timely manner. Assess and diagnose reported endpoint issues. Balance ticket queue work against deployment and QA responsibilities, adjusting priorities in real time as urgent replacement needs arise without allowing other deliverables to fall behind.
Minimum Job Requirements:
High School Diploma required; Associate degree or higher in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field preferred. Proficiency in Windows 10/11 and Microsoft 365 (O365); experience with Microsoft Intune is a plus. Hands-on familiarity with desktop PC hardware or a demonstrated aptitude and eagerness to develop these skills. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work through technical scenarios methodically and independently. Exceptional attention to detail, particularly when performing repetitive tasks at volume; the ability to maintain accuracy on the 30th machine with the same discipline as the first. Demonstrated written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills; comfort working with cross-functional teams when issues arise. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple concurrent workstreams — including active ticket queues, deployment builds, and QA testing cycles — and reprioritize on the fly as urgent replacement requests arise, without losing ground on existing commitments. A genuine desire to learn, self-improve, and figure things out. Experience supporting remote workers and managing endpoints in a distributed environment is preferred.
