Building Services Custodian

Overview Join our team as a Building Services Custodian, where your energy and attention to detail will keep our environment clean, safe, and welcoming! Responsible for implementing varied custodial, building services, and maintenance tasks in order to maintain clean, sanitary, and safe conditions, as well as upholding the appearance of the church facilities and grounds. These duties are repetitive in nature but will vary daily, weekly, or seasonally. Duties Perform comprehensive cleaning duties across all areas of the facility, including offices, hallways, restrooms, and common spaces in multiple buildings on our campus. Conduct detailed floor care activities such as sweeping, mopping, buffing, and carpet cleaning to maintain pristine surfaces. Support maintenance activities by reporting repairs or safety hazards and assisting with light upkeep tasks like painting or minor repairs Ability to operate cleaning machinery such as floor buffers, extractors, and industrial vacuums preferred. Daily Cleaning and Event Set-Up/Breakdown at each facility on campus: Sweep and mop or vacuum the room, empty trash and recycling, and maintain general tidiness for scheduled events. Empty all waste paper and recycling receptacles from other rooms, bathrooms & hallways and dispose of into designated outside dumpster for each. Vacuum carpeted areas; sweep and dry all hard floor surfaces, including stairwells. Spot clean all glass in windows, entrance, and hallway doors, and on tabletops. Dust furniture. Clean, sanitize, and restock all bathrooms. Clean and sanitize all water fountains. Handle emergency clean-up situations (e.g., spills, vomit, floods). Conduct visual walk-through inspections of all building interiors and grounds and report any damage, safety hazards, or repairs needed to the Property Manager. Clean and maintain equipment (e.g., vacuums, strippers, buffers, battery chargers) and make small building repairs as needed/directed. Move supplies that are needed to the facilities on the church campus. Communicate supply needs to the Property Manager, receive and stock supply deliveries, and maintain the order and cleanliness of those storage areas. Regular monthly cleaning at the main building, Annex, and Youth Chapel on campus: Dust ceiling corners and baseboards of rooms, hallways, and stairwells. Spot wash walls and doors of visible marks; Wash all trash and recycling receptacles. Perform other duties as assigned by the supervisor. Check to ensure windows and doors are secure and locked after events, and that no unauthorized people are in the church building. Experience and Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. Experience in general cleaning of buildings and grounds; knowledgeable about the proper handling of cleaning supplies, cleaning techniques, and set-up in a large facility for varied events, with the ability to make basic repairs preferred. Observant, respectful, motivated, and committed to providing church members, visitors, and staff with a clean, orderly place to worship and congregate. Possesses good time management skills, attention to detail, good problem-solving skills, is dependable and trustworthy, and displays a strong work ethic. Capable of working independently and must be adaptable and flexible. Work requires sustained physical effort, including walking, bending, pushing and reuglarly lifting up to 25 pounds. Work involves heavy lifting and moving of furniture and equipment, with exposure to accident and injury hazards and disagreeable elements. Work requires sufficient physical strength and freedom from disabling defects to permit the lifting and moving of heavy objects (minimum 50 lbs.) and to perform manual labor. Pay:

$19.50 - $20.00 per hour
