In this vital role, you will ensure the safe, efficient, and courteous transportation of campers, including students, seniors, or community members. Drivers are able to focus fully on safely operating the vehicle and transporting passengers. Responsibilities Safely operate buses and other commercial vehicles, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations. Transport passengers along designated routes, ensuring timely arrivals and departures. Communicate clearly and professionally with camp staff and passengers as needed. Conduct pre-trip inspections of the vehicle to verify mechanical safety and readiness. Work alongside on-board camp staff who supervise campers and manage bus behavior. Assist with boarding and disembarking passengers when needed. Maintain accurate records of trips, passenger counts, and vehicle maintenance logs. Report any safety concerns, incidents, or maintenance needs promptly. Requirements Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; commercial driver's license (CDL) with passenger endorsement preferred but not mandatory for all routes. Proven experience in bus driving or commercial driving roles. Strong communication skills in English; bilingual abilities are a plus for serving diverse communities. Knowledge of vehicle mechanics and basic troubleshooting to perform routine inspections. Experience transporting children, seniors, or community groups is highly desirable.
