Position SummaryThe Arc Minnesota is hiring a Major Gifts Officer to serve as a frontline fundraiser responsible for identifying, qualifying, cultivating, and closing major gifts of $10,000 or more, with particular emphasis on gifts of $25,000 and above.
This role manages a portfolio of approximately 75-100 major gift prospects and donors, driving revenue growth through disciplined prospecting, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship. The Major Gifts Officer reports to the Chief Development Officer and partners closely with the CEO and Board on major donor relationships, with extensive travel (25%+) in a hybrid work arrangement.

Role and ResponsibilitiesIdentify, qualify, cultivate, and close major gifts of $10,000+, with emphasis on gifts of $25,000 and aboveManage a portfolio of 75-100 major gift prospects and donors, building individualized engagement and solicitation strategiesMaintain a consistent cadence of donor meetings, events, and relationship-building activitiesPartner with the CEO, CDO, and Board members to cultivate, solicit, and steward major donor relationshipsUse prospect research, wealth screening, and donor analytics to prioritize high-capacity giving opportunitiesMaintain accurate donor records and moves management activity in SalesforceIdentify opportunities for multi-year gifts, planned giving, and corporate/foundation partnershipsServe as an ambassador for The Arc Minnesota's mission and commitment to disability justiceRequired Qualifications & SkillsBachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience3+ years of frontline major gifts fundraising experience; will also consider annual giving experienceExperience managing a portfolio of major donors through all stages of the donor lifecycleStrong CRM discipline and comfort using donor data to drive fundraising strategyExcellent relationship-building, communication, and presentation skillsReliable transportation and ability to travel throughout Minnesota, including occasional evenings/weekendsMust reside in the state of Minnesota, Wisconsin, South Dakota, or other state and county bordering the State of MinnesotaPreferred Qualifications & SkillsExperience with Salesforce or another donor CRM/database platformExperience securing five- and six-figure giftsExperience fundraising within nonprofit, healthcare, education, or human services settingsPosting DisclaimerThe above is intended to describe the general content of and requirement for the performance of this position.
