NYCHA's mission is to provide quality housing for New Yorkers that is sustainable, inclusive and safe, while fostering opportunities for economic mobility. NYCHA also administers a citywide Section 8 leased housing program that serves over 220,000 residents. In addition, NYCHA also serves more than 46,000 residents across over 24,000 apartments within 92 developments through the Permanent Affordability Commitment Together (PACT)/Rental Assistance Demonstration (RAD) programs.
Position Summary:
NYCHA is seeking a Board Meeting Coordinator to work in the Office of the Corporate Secretary (OTCS). NYCHA has a seven-member Board of Directors, which meets at least monthly to provide guidance and oversight, approve procurements, and discuss major policy changes. The Senior Director of Corporate Governance reports to the Special Advisor for Corporate Governance and Audit and is charged with the direct supervision of administrative staff in several fast-paced extremely deadline-driven departments, including the Calendar and Documents Unit and Board Logistics Unit. In coordination with the Special Advisor for Corporate Governance and Audit, the Senior Director of Corporate Governance serves as an advisor to the Board Members, as well as, a liaison to the Executive Team and external stakeholders. The Board Meeting Coordinator supports the Board Resolution process and assists with the coordination and preparation of materials for Board meetings. The Board Meeting Coordinator works with NYCHA departments and the OTCS to facilitate the timely review, processing, and coordination of Board items and ensure that Board materials are complete, accurate, and consistent with established governance procedures. Primary Responsibilities of the
Board Meeting Coordinator:
The Board Meeting Coordinator will assist the Senior Director of Corporate Governance and Department liaisons in supporting the Board Resolution and Board Meeting processes including, but not limited to: Assist in the preparation, review, editing, and coordination of Board resolutions and supporting materials to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with established governance procedures; Coordinate with NYCHA departments and OTCS staff to facilitate the timely review and processing of Board items; Review Board submissions for completeness and ensure all required documentation is received prior to Board consideration; Track Board items throughout the review and approval process and communicate deadlines and outstanding items to stakeholders; Maintain records and files related to Board actions, resolutions, and governance activities; Provide administrative and operational support to the OTCS, including assisting with special projects, research, and process improvements; Coordinate Board meeting materials and assist with meeting preparation, including distribution of agendas and supporting documents; Assist with Committee meeting coordination, including preparation of notices, meeting materials, minutes, and follow-up activities as needed; and Perform other related duties or assist in other areas within the OTCS, as required.

High school graduation or evidence of having passed an examination for a high school equivalency diploma and three years of stenographic or word processing experience including at least one year as a secretary; or 2. Education and/or Experience equivalent to "1" above. However, all candidates must possess a High School diploma or its educational equivalent. Preferred Skills Preferred Qualifications and experience: Master's Degree from an accredited college and 2 years of satisfactory experience of a nature to qualify for the duties and responsibilities of the position, at least 12 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, consultative or executive capacity; or Bachelor's degree from an accredited college and 3 years of satisfactory experience of a nature to qualify for the duties and responsibilities of the position, at least 12 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, consultative or executive capacity; or A combination of education and/or equivalent described above. However, all candidates must have at least 12 months of which must have been in an administrative, managerial, consultative or executive experience described above. Previous experience working with Boards, preparation of Board Meeting Materials, and Board Meeting logistics process. Excellent administrative and organization skills including attention to detail, proven ability to prioritize and successfully carry out multiple assignments and meet critical deadlines and timeframes. Ability to perform detailed work under time-sensitive deadlines. Excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated record as both a self-starter and team-player. Ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. Strong analytical, interpersonal, problem-solving, verbal, and written communications skills. Demonstrated experience with all Microsoft Office applications.
Pay:
Up to $88,000.00 per year
