We provide critical music education through professional orchestra concerts, in-school assemblies, teaching residencies, and virtual programs. We promote education and cultural understanding through music, reach diverse communities, and inspire students to reach their full potential. Our 2025-2026 Season served 55,000+ people nationwide , with 37,000+ of our audience representing under-resourced schools.
MISSION:
Transforming children's lives through innovative educational concerts and music programs that inspire learning, creativity, and community. Classics 4 Kids is seeking
Volunteer Board Member:
Primary role will be to provide guidance for the development of annual and longer range fundraising plan, alert the staff to fundraising opportunities and assist in making connections to key relationships in the community.
MUST BE BASED IN SAN DIEGO COUNTY
Commitment:
Two-‐year term, $500 contribution per year witha "stretch" commitment to $2,000, every other month board meetings, attend concerts, fundraisers and enhance community connections.

Board members are responsible for acting in the best long-‐term interests of the organization and its community and will bring tothe task of informed decision making, a broad knowledge and an inclusive A commitment to and understanding of Classics 4 Kids mission
General Duties:
Every member of the Board of Directors is expected to do the following: All Directors are expected to be fully informed on Classics 4 Kids matters and participate in discussions and decisions in matters of policy, finance, programs, personnel and advocacy. Prepare for and attend board meetings Work as a team member and support board decisions Demonstrate loyalty, commitment and fiduciary responsibility. Approve the budget and monitor financial performance in relation to it Abide by the by-‐laws, code of conduct, and other polices that apply to the board Establish, review and monitor polices that guide core operational practices (eg. financial management, human resource management) Participate in fundraising activities Participate in the recruitment of new board members
