Reports To:
Launch Manager Position Summary The Engineering Change Management Specialist is responsible for coordinating and executing all aspects of the Product Engineering Change Management System (ECMS) within a fast-paced automotive manufacturing environment. This role ensures the timely processing, tracking, and implementation of engineering changes across launch and production programs while maintaining compliance with customer requirements and quality standards. Key Responsibilities Engineering Change Management Coordinate and manage all engineering change activities including ECR, ECO, and Deviation Authorizations (DA) Serve as the plant representative in cross-functional meetings (SDT, ECO/ECR reviews) Track and maintain all engineering changes within the ECMS database, ensuring timely approvals and implementation Lead weekly engineering change meetings; follow up on open items and escalate delays Communicate engineering changes across internal teams and customer stakeholders Coordinate and track production trials, prototype builds, and pre-production activities Ensure proper documentation and execution of PPAP and deviation processes Create and manage WERS Alerts and communicate deviations to customer as required Track implementation timing, trial results, and ILVS documentation Cross-Functional Coordination Interface with Quality, Manufacturing Engineering, Product Engineering, Operations, Materials, and Program Management Drive accountability for engineering change approvals and implementation timelines Support program launch activities and ongoing production changes Quality Systems & Compliance Maintain compliance with
IATF 16949, ISO
14001, and internal BOS requirements Track audit findings and ensure timely corrective action responses Maintain controlled documentation including work instructions, standards, and process records Support internal and external audit activities Business Operating System (BOS) Oversight Maintain and manage BOS documentation and records Coordinate updates, training, and compliance related to BOS changes Ensure adherence to standardized processes and documentation requirements Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Industrial Administration, Business Management, or related field Equivalent experience will be considered Experience 3-5 years of experience in automotive manufacturing or industrial administration Hands-on experience with engineering change management processes (ECR/ECO/DA) Strong knowledge of quality systems including IATF 16949 and
ISO 14001
Experience supporting PPAP, deviation processes, and customer requirements Skills & Competencies Strong project coordination and organizational skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Excellent cross-functional communication and follow-up skills Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel and PowerPoint) Detail-oriented with strong documentation control capabilities Preferred Qualifications Experience with Ford systems (WERS) Quality auditor experience Customer-facing quality systems experience Background in seating or high-volume automotive manufacturing Key Success Factors Ability to drive engineering changes to closure on time Strong attention to detail and process discipline Effective communication across multiple departments Proactive problem-solving and escalation management Seating manufacturing experience is preferable.
