Emergency Planning Representative

Job Description

Overview:
Emergency Planning Representative (D662) - this position will report to Groton for training then report full time to QP. General Dynamics Electric Boat is looking to hire an Emergency Planning Representative to support the Business Continuity Disaster Recovery (BCDR) Program. This position will support Electric Boat's (EB) mission of delivering the most capable submarines in the world to the U.S. Navy by assessing organizational risk and improving resiliency. The position of Emergency Planning Representative focuses on organizing, creating, and testing Business Continuity Plans (BCP) that aim to reduce the overall recovery time after emergencies or business interruptions. The BCDR program works collaboratively with EB's Radiological Emergency Response Organization (RERO) to establish policy, procedure, guidelines and protocols in furtherance of overall response measures and staffing of the Emergency Control Center (ECC) in the event of an all-hazards emergency.
Responsibilities include:
Support company leadership in the completion and documentation of annual Business Impact Analysis (BIA). Develop business continuity focused actions and recommendations for EB organizations based on identified risk areas, corporate standards, and applicable regulatory and industry requirements. Support daily operation of the BCDR program to include innovative problem solving, personnel management, and other administrative functions, as needed. Develop and deliver business continuity training, tabletops, and functional exercises for all CT and RI locations. Maintain centralized storage of all program information to include BIA documentation, response plans, results of tabletop exercises and drills, and lists of critical equipment. Assist in developing formal reports and presentations for company leadership on current organizational risks, upcoming high-risk events, and the overall status of the BCDR program.
Qualifications:
Required:
High School diploma or GED Bachelor of Science degree (or higher) in Emergency Management, Engineering, Homeland Security, Public Safety (or other related field) OR 5-years of experience in an emergency management or business continuity field 2+ years of work experience in Business Continuity, Emergency Management, Emergency Preparedness, Disaster Recovery, Risk Management field FEMA IS-700, IS-800 and IS-1300 (or) obtained within first 6 months of employment
Preferred:
A Bachelor's Degree in Emergency Management or Emergency Preparedness Experience in facilitating emergency response tabletops, exercises, and/or drills. Experience conducting Business Impact Analysis or formal Risk Assessments Experience in data analysis and/or data visualization tools (Tableau, PowerBI, etc.)
Skills:
Candidate should possess excellent written and oral communication skills. Candidate must be able to effectively coordinate and communicate with stakeholders from throughout the organization. Computer based presentation programs and software experience.
