Onsite Job Description Role Summary
CLIENT is seeking an experienced Crisis Management and Scenario Testing professional to provide immediate support across several high-priority global resilience initiatives.
The successful contractor will primarily support the planning, coordination and execution of a major global desktop exercise designed to validate CLIENT's Essential Services capabilities, incident management processes, crisis response structures, emergency notification arrangements and interaction with Cyber Security Incident response capabilities.
In parallel, the contractor will support ongoing crisis preparedness activities associated with emerging geopolitical risks, including response planning, scenario analysis, stakeholder engagement, communications support and business continuity readiness activities.
This is a hands-on delivery-focused role requiring strong programme coordination, facilitation, stakeholder management and operational resilience experience. The scope may evolve over time to include broader crisis management framework enhancement, remediation management and resilience programme activities.
Key Responsibilities
Global Scenario Testing & Exercise Delivery (Primary Focus)
Lead and coordinate preparations for a global operational resilience desktop exercise, including:
Development and refinement of realistic severe but plausible global scenario.
Creation of participant briefing materials and exercise documentation.
Development of facilitator guides, inject packs, response templates and exercise artefacts.
Coordination of planning meetings and working groups.
Engagement with business, technology, cyber security, supplier risk and operational resilience SMEs.
Identification and confirmation of participants, response teams and key stakeholders.
Exercise logistics management including:
meeting scheduling
breakout room planning
participant communications
pre-exercise briefings
technology readiness activities
Coordination of post-exercise analysis, lessons learned and reporting.
Support production of executive and Board-level reporting following completion of the exercise.
Crisis Management & Incident Response Support (Additional Focus)
Provide operational support to Enterprise Operational Resilience during active incidents, geopolitical developments or emerging threats.
Activities may include:
Supporting Incident Management Team (IMT) and Crisis Management Team activities.
Facilitating response calls and minutes / action tracking.
Developing situation reports and executive updates.
Maintaining decision logs, action trackers and supporting documentation.
Supporting escalation management and stakeholder coordination.
Assisting with internal communications and preparedness communications.
Supporting emergency notification and mobilisation activities.
Coordinating proactive preparedness actions relating to emerging threats and worsening scenario assessments.
Crisis Management Framework Enhancement (Secondary / Future Focus)
Subject to priorities and available capacity following completion of exercise activities, support enhancement of CLIENT's business-focused crisis management framework, including:
Review and optimisation of local, regional and global response structures.
Review of response team roles, responsibilities and governance arrangements.
Strengthening alignment between business crisis management and cyber incident response processes.
Support development of severity classification and escalation approaches.
Enhancement of communications, notification and coordination procedures.
Participation in framework documentation updates and implementation planning.
Remediation & Regulatory Support
Assist with the management and coordination of incident management specific improvement activities, including emerging from exercises, incidents, audits, regulatory reviews, self-assessments
Supporting evidence gathering and documentation activities.
Coordinating stakeholder actions and delivery plans.
Monitoring progress against agreed improvement initiatives.
Experience Required
The successful candidate will demonstrate:
Essential
5+ years' experience in crisis management, incident management, business continuity or operational resilience.
Experience facilitating or coordinating enterprise-wide exercises and simulations.
Experience supporting major incidents, crisis events or emergency response activities.
Strong programme coordination and stakeholder management skills.
Ability to work with senior leadership and cross-functional teams.
Strong written communication and presentation skills.
Experience producing executive-quality communications and reporting.
Ability to manage multiple workstreams simultaneously within tight timeframes.
Preferred
Financial services, insurance or highly regulated industry experience.
Experience working alongside technology and cyber incident response teams.
Knowledge of operational resilience regulations (e.g. FCA, DORA, MAS, APRA or similar).
Relevant certifications such as CBCP, MBCI, DRI, PMP or equivalent.
