Job Description

Business Analyst / Documentation & Process Improvement Specialist Full / Part Time (CT Preferred) This role is not simply documenting procedures. You will work directly with ownership and department leaders to understand how the business operates, document workflows, identify inefficiencies, improve processes, and build the foundation for future automation and AI initiatives. Over time, you will become one of the key people responsible for translating business requirements into actionable documentation, projects, and development tasks. What You'll Be Doing Business Discovery & Documentation Interview staff across Sales, Purchasing, Operations, Warehouse and Management Document workflows, procedures, exceptions and business rules Create SOPs, process maps and knowledge base articles Capture tribal knowledge currently held by key employees Systems & Database Documentation Learn our proprietary business platform Document screens, tables, reports and workflows Understand how information moves through the organization Create developer-ready functional specifications Project & Process Management Work directly with ownership on business improvement initiatives Turn ideas and discussions into actionable projects Track progress and follow up with stakeholders Coordinate between management, users and developers AI & Automation Readiness Organize company knowledge for AI systems Build structured documentation repositories Identify repetitive processes suitable for automation Support future AI implementation projects Operational Improvement Analyze workflows for bottlenecks Recommend process improvements Reduce dependency on key individuals Improve training and onboarding processes Ideal Background Business Analyst Operations Analyst Systems Analyst Process Improvement Specialist Revenue Operations Technical Writer Project Coordinator You Might Be a Great Fit If You Love understanding how businesses operate Ask lots of questions Enjoy organizing complex information Can document processes clearly and thoroughly Are comfortable working with both technical and non-technical staff Can take a rough idea and turn it into a structured plan Compensation Full Time or Part Time Connecticut Preferred Salary / hourly rate based on experience. Pay:
$38.57 - $46.45 per hour
