MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education:
A bachelor's degree required, preferably in engineering, math or science and three years of experience as a military aircrew member is required.
Training and Experience :
Possessed a qualification as a Pilot or Combat Systems Officer with a minimum of 500 flying hours of military aircraft in one or more of the following Mission Design Series (MDS): USAF - F-16C, F-15C/E, F-35 or F-22. Possessed a qualification as a Pilot or Combat Systems Officer with a minimum of 500 flying hours of military aircraft in one or more of the following Mission Design Series (MDS):
USMC/USN
F-18 or F-35 or
USAF - F-16C, F-15C/E, F-35, F-22. 1
year of experience as Director of Operations / Operations Officer is preferred: one year of experience as Assistance Director of Operations / Assistant Operations Officer is required. Ability to perform at field-grade officer of responsibility. 5 years of experience directing/conducting military air operations is required. Intimate familiarity with military aircrew member terminology. The ability to apply classical analysis techniques in evaluating data elements (probabilities, regressions analysis, familiarity with computer analysis programs, etc.). Fighter (Pilot or Combat Systems Officer) experience with a minimum of 500 flying hours of military aircraft with RTO experience preferred.
Security Clearance:
Must possess and maintain a Top-Secret clearance with
SCI/SAP/SAR
eligibility.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Provide expert analysis and operational insight using experience as a fighter Pilot or Combat Systems Officer. Serve as senior-level advisors for mission planning, execution, and assessment, applying extensive knowledge of USAF, USN, and USMC tactical fighter employment. Perform duties equivalent to field ‑ grade officer responsibility, supporting high ‑ level planning, coordination, and decision-making in air operations. Conduct classical analysis techniques—such as probability assessments, regression analysis, and data evaluation—to support mission reviews, operational reporting, and exercise analytics. Contribute as Airboss Assistants by supporting scenario development, airspace coordination, safety oversight, and integration of multi-domain operational elements. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior analysts and operational planners, ensuring accurate use of aircrew terminology, tactical concepts, and fighter employment principles. Produce clear, technically formatted reports, assessments, and mission summaries that align with professional standards and organizational style guidelines. Perform other incidental and related duties as required and assigned.
