This role reports to the Senior Director, Professional Services. This role bridges customer implementation needs with product development by translating strategic initiatives, implementation experience, and business requirements into prioritized, development-ready solutions. Working closely with Product Management, Engineering, QA, and implementation teams, the Lead Business Analyst drives functional analysis, backlog readiness, solution governance, and process improvement while ensuring the platform continues to evolve in alignment with customer needs and organizational priorities. This role plays a key leadership role in strategic platform modernization, user experience improvements, and major product enhancement initiatives by partnering with Engineering and Product Management to define functional requirements and accelerate delivery. Essential Responsibilities/Duties Lead business analysis activities for strategic platform modernization and major product enhancement initiatives. Analyze business processes, workflows, and customer requirements to identify opportunities for improved functionality and user experience. Translate business objectives into detailed functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, and process flows. Develop prototypes, workflow documentation, and functional specifications to validate proposed solutions. Perform impact analysis for requested enhancements, defects, and system changes. Collaborate with implementation teams to ensure customer requirements are accurately represented in development efforts. Support complex customer initiatives by providing functional expertise and solution guidance when needed. Own the implementation-driven backlog in partnership with Product Management. Prioritize implementation enhancements based on customer value, strategic objectives, technical complexity, and delivery timelines. Prepare backlog items to ensure Engineering has complete, development-ready requirements. Partner with Product Management to translate strategic initiatives into executable work while maintaining alignment with the overall product roadmap. Participate in sprint planning, backlog refinement, release planning, estimation, and feature prioritization. Review completed functionality to validate alignment with business requirements before QA and customer demonstrations. Establish functional standards and best practices across CaseBuilder implementations. Review solution designs to ensure consistency, scalability, maintainability, and alignment with platform standards. Identify opportunities to standardize customer-specific functionality into configurable platform capabilities. Serve as the primary functional liaison between Professional Services, Engineering, QA, Support, and Product Management. Mentor Business Analysts and Solution Consultants on business analysis, solution design, and backlog management best practices. Lead adoption of AI-assisted tools to improve requirements gathering, documentation, user story creation, acceptance criteria development, and overall business analysis productivity. Continuously improve implementation methodologies, documentation standards, and delivery processes. Evaluate emerging technologies and recommend improvements that enhance implementation quality and engineering efficiency. Perform other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience. 5+ years of enterprise software business analysis or product owner experience. Demonstrated success supporting enterprise software development and Agile delivery teams. Strong experience writing user stories, acceptance criteria, business rules, and functional specifications. Experience managing or refining product backlogs in partnership with Product Management. Excellent analytical, facilitation, communication, and problem-solving skills. Experience mentoring Business Analysts or leading functional initiatives. Experience using AI productivity tools to improve business analysis and documentation. Ability to influence cross-functional teams without direct authority. Preferred Qualifications Experience with configurable SaaS applications. Experience leading large-scale application modernization or strategic platform transformation initiatives. Experience with public safety, justice, or government software. Experience partnering closely with Engineering and Product Management. Strong UX and business process design experience. Experience with AI-assisted software delivery.
