Job Description
Senior Business Systems Analyst Our client is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst to support an enterprise analytics and data enablement team focused on developing and improving scalable data products. This role is ideal for a highly analytical professional who enjoys tracing complex data flows, translating technical findings into clear documentation, and partnering across teams to ensure data solutions are accurate, efficient, and aligned with business needs. This role is fully remote. Applicants must reside in Oregon, Washington, Utah, Idaho, or North Dakota. Senior Business Systems Analyst Responsibilities Support the discovery and design of enterprise data products by analyzing requirements, data sources, dependencies, and end-to-end data flows. Develop detailed source-to-target mappings, technical specifications, process documentation, and other reference materials supporting data development and migration initiatives. Perform data validation, quality assessments, and complex analysis using SQL to confirm data accuracy, completeness, and alignment with product requirements. Partner with product managers, technical teams, and business stakeholders to clarify requirements, coordinate data-related requests, resolve issues, and maintain alignment across initiatives. Analyze multi-source datasets and contribute to the development of reusable data assets, including views, tables, data marts, and other structures supporting analytics and business intelligence. Investigate technical processes and data acquisition workflows to identify gaps, inefficiencies, dependencies, and opportunities for improvement. Translate complex technical findings into organized, accessible documentation using Confluence or comparable enterprise documentation tools. Proactively identify data or process concerns, research underlying causes, and collaborate with appropriate teams to drive issues through resolution. Support enterprise data migration and modernization efforts while adapting to evolving platforms, technologies, and data sources. Maintain a high standard of quality and follow-through while balancing multiple priorities and working collaboratively across technical and product teams. Senior Business Systems Analyst Qualifications Advanced SQL skills, including experience with complex queries, data validation, troubleshooting, and query optimization. Strong experience analyzing enterprise data flows, developing source-to-target mappings, and translating business requirements into technical data solutions. Demonstrated expertise creating detailed technical documentation, process maps, specifications, and reference materials for complex data initiatives. Experience working with enterprise data platforms and large-scale datasets; Snowflake and/or PostgreSQL experience is strongly preferred. Proven ability to develop or support multi-source datasets and reusable data assets for analytics, reporting, or business intelligence use cases. Strong analytical curiosity with the ability to investigate complex technical environments, identify important details, and connect findings to broader business outcomes. Working knowledge of data modeling concepts, including dimensional modeling and star/snowflake schema approaches. Experience improving data acquisition, documentation, or technical workflows to increase efficiency and reduce process friction. Strong communication and collaboration skills with the confidence to raise risks, ask detailed questions, and advocate for quality across cross-functional teams. Ability to synthesize complex technical information and quickly learn new platforms, technologies, tools, and data sources. Comfort using Python for data analysis or related technical work is preferred. Experience supporting data migrations or enterprise data modernization initiatives is preferred. Familiarity with healthcare or insurance data, including medical or pharmacy claims, is a plus. Exposure to healthcare data standards such as HL7 or FHIR is a plus. Experience incorporating AI-enabled tools into day-to-day analysis, documentation, or productivity workflows is a plus.
