Role Type:
Full time
Summary:
We are seeking a senior consultant who can help advisors and their teams implement fee-based financial planning in a way that is practical, compliant, and scalable. This role will serve as a primary resource for advisor questions related to policies, procedures, agreements, platforms, and best practices tied to fee-for-advice services, with a specific focus on helping advisors incorporate comprehensive planning that begins with a fee. The position is designed to proactively increase the percentage of advisors who offer fee-for-service advice by providing deep, specialized guidance in this area rather than broad-based training across topics. Success in this role will be measured by the ability to help more advisors adopt fee-based planning and expand their confidence in delivering comprehensive advice services that align to evolving client expectations. While this role will collaborate closely with cross functional departments and teams, it will remain distinct by focusing on informal learning opportunities, implementation support, self-service resources, and ownership of selected rollout activities that help advisors put fee-based planning into practice.
Responsibilities:
Advisor Implementation Support, Adoption & Rollout Execution:
Respond to advisor and staff questions on how to launch, manage, and scale fee-based planning services within their business. Take a proactive role in increasing adoption by identifying advisor segments with the greatest opportunity, supporting selected rollout plans, and helping more advisors toward offering fee-for-service advice and comprehensive planning engagements.
Advisor Policy, Procedure & Platform Guidance:
Serve as a go-to resource for advisors and staff on fee-based financial planning policies, procedures, agreements, approved resources, and business processing platforms. Help advisors understand how to structure and implement fee-for-planning services within firm guidelines and established best practices.
Self-Service Resources & Informal Field Learning:
Build and maintain practical self-service resources that help advisors and support staff navigate fee-based planning implementation more independently. Lead informal, primarily virtual learning opportunities such as office hours, study groups, peer-sharing forums, and targeted guidance sessions, with occasional facilitation of breakout sessions at national meetings or other advisor events.
Cross-Functional Partnership & Continuous Improvement:
Partner with advisor training and development, compliance, operations, and product teams to improve the overall advisor experience related to fee-based planning. Contribute subject matter expertise and field insight to formal learning programs where appropriate, while maintaining distinct ownership for deep fee-for-advice implementation guidance, informal learning opportunities, adoption initiatives, and practical business support.
Required Qualifications:
5-10 years of experience in financial services, with a strong preference for financial planning consulting or other advisor-facing roles
Strong understanding of the financial planning process, wealth management, and the practical implementation of fee-based or fee-for-advice services
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, support rollout activities, and respond to time-sensitive advisor needs
Excellent advisor-facing communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to translate best practices into practical, easy-to-apply guidance
Ability to partner effectively across teams and contribute to rollout efforts that support advisor adoption of fee-based planning
Proficiency in MS Office, familiar with AI capabilities a plus
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in financial planning consulting or other advisor-facing consulting roles
Familiarity with fee-based planning business models, agreements, and advisor implementation practices
Familiarity with operations and compliance considerations related to fee-for-advice services
Experience facilitating virtual learning sessions, peer forums, or breakout sessions for advisor audiences
