Position Description:
We are seeking an experienced Strategic Planning Specialist to support enterprise strategic planning, Agile program execution, and governance initiatives within a fast-paced environment. This role is ideal for a program management professional with strong Azure DevOps (ADO) expertise who thrives on improving planning processes, driving cross-functional collaboration, and ensuring successful execution of strategic initiatives. The ideal candidate will help mature strategic planning frameworks, coordinate annual and quarterly planning cycles, improve governance processes, and enable teams through effective planning, reporting, stakeholder engagement, and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and maintain Azure DevOps (ADO) backlogs, dashboards, delivery plans, queries, reports, and Wiki documentation.
- Coordinate annual and quarterly strategic planning cycles, ensuring milestones, deliverables, and timelines are successfully executed.
- Track project status, dependencies, risks, action items, and planning deliverables while providing visibility to leadership.
- Develop and maintain planning documentation, standard operating procedures, job aids, process documentation, and training materials.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to cross-functional teams by providing guidance on planning processes, reporting expectations, and quarterly commitments.
- Facilitate planning workshops, stakeholder meetings, communications, and change management initiatives to drive organizational adoption.
- Identify opportunities to improve governance, planning methodologies, reporting, and operational processes while supporting implementation of process enhancements.
- Partner with business and technical stakeholders to ensure consistent execution of strategic initiatives across multiple workstreams.
- Promote Agile best practices, operational excellence, and continuous improvement throughout the planning lifecycle. Required Skills/Education
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent professional experience.
5+ years of experience in one or more of the following:
Program Management
Strategic Planning
PMO
Agile Project Delivery
Portfolio Management
Enterprise Planning
Advanced experience using Azure DevOps (ADO) including:
Backlog Management
Dashboards
Queries
Reporting
Delivery Plans
Wiki Administration
Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and planning frameworks.
Excellent communication, facilitation, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
Experience coordinating complex planning activities across multiple teams.
Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
Experience developing documentation, process improvements, and training materials.
Ability to work independently while effectively collaborating with cross-functional teams Preferred Qualifications
Experience supporting Information Security, Cybersecurity, Governance, Risk Management, Compliance, or Regulatory organizations.
Experience with enterprise portfolio planning, governance frameworks, or value delivery initiatives.
Experience leading organizational change management, stakeholder engagement, and adoption efforts.
