Job Description

Purpose of Position:
The procurement officer will be responsible for sourcing suppliers, negotiating contracts, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services. Exceptional negotiation skills, thorough understanding of procurement processes, and the ability to build strong relationships with vendors.
Essential Functions:
Source suppliers and obtain competitive quotes for goods and services. Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with suppliers to achieve the best value for the company. Evaluate supplier performance and conduct regular supplier reviews. Coordinate with internal departments to determine procurement needs and specifications. Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, and inventory levels. Monitor market trends and industry developments to identify potential suppliers and cost-saving opportunities. Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures, as well as relevant regulations and laws. Resolve any issues or disputes with suppliers regarding quality, delivery, or pricing. Collaborate with other departments to optimize procurement processes and improve efficiency. Stay current on developments in procurement best practices and technology tools. Other duties as assigned.

Required Knowledge:
All Norton Sound Health Corporation employees are expected to have general knowledge of typical office technologies such as computers, printers, copiers, fax machines, and typical office software. Job Specific knowledge is listed below: Strong negotiation skills and ability to build and maintain vendor relationships Knowledge of purchase orders and process, contracts, terms and general conditions Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite Knowledge of supply chain management principles and practices Familiarity with relevant laws and regulations governing procurement Analytical mindset with the ability to solve problems and make data-driven decisions Attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus

Working Conditions:
