POSITION OVERVIEW & RESPONSIBILITIES

Our client seeks a Technical Buyer to join the expansion of its manufacturing operations based in Auburn, AL. This role is responsible for coordinating all processes and activities related to sourcing, purchasing and supply chain for the U.S. subsidiary.

Primary Responsibilities:

Development supplier network for manufacturing operation including suppliers for raw materials, semi-finished parts and consumables. Develop and follow process for Requests for Quotations (RFQ) to solicit multiple bids according to relevant criteria from engineering, operations, and production personnel. Compare and evaluate suppliers' quotes; seek cost-savings negotiation opportunities. Make recommendations to decision-makers based on results. Conduct regular forecasting of future demand for materials Generate and release purchase orders to vendors and track orders until goods delivery and invoicing. Support supplier audits when required. Job Requirements Bachelors' degree mechanical engineering with additional business management knowledge or business studies with additional technical qualifications Min. 3 years' experience as a buyer or similar role in a manufacturing or fabrication operation in the metals industry An organized, process-oriented, and detailed approach to work is absolutely essential. Negotiating experience to identify and leverage cost savings opportunities Experience in working with SAP, proficient in MS Office Organizational talent as well as an analytical, structured and effective way of working German language skills are highly beneficial but not required. Your willingness to dive in and become a part of a to the success of a diverse, international, and rapidly growing team.
