The Opportunity Reporting to the Procurement Manager, The Procurement Specialist is pivotal in ensuring the efficient and cost-effective purchasing of materials and services for our projects. The ideal candidate will have experience in supply chain management, proficiency in procurement systems, and a strong background in the electronics industry. Key Responsibilities
- Purchase specifically assigned goods, materials, and services directed by the Materials Requirements Planning (MRP) and Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP), internal customers, and authorized individuals.
- Review and release daily approved purchase orders/work orders within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Control, coordinate and expedite the flow of all incoming materials, parts, and assemblies between departments and customers to meet or improve the shipping, departmental and master production schedules.
- Initiate and manage various RF(x) activities and process, including spreadsheet analysis and making informed and "best value" recommendations within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Maintain detailed procurement records for all items or services purchased, delivery, product quality or performance, and inventories.
- Proactively discuss and identify defective or unacceptable goods or services with inspection or quality control personnel, users, suppliers, and others functional team members to determine corrective action and root cause analysis.
- Approve invoice variances for payment within budgetary limitations and scope of authority.
- Establish, control and input item masters to ensure inventory accuracy including ABC classification, bin location and components rationalization.
- Coordinate with the materials personnel to identify variances between inventory count discrepancies.
- Maintain and report obsolete inventory and recommend disposition for reduction.
- Analyze and recommend supplier and component volume consolidation, specification rationalization, total cost analysis, global sourcing, supplier relationship management, process improvements, and technology improvements/enablers.
- Build supplier relationships through supplier performance measurement, external benchmarking, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Foster an in-depth knowledge of the market and capabilities of key suppliers and maintain an awareness of emerging trends and issues.
- Monitor supply chain management reporting systems to meet company and ISO requirements. Qualifications Degree/Diploma in Supply Chain Management or 5+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain management, or a related field, within a face paced manufacturing industry, preferably electronics. Quoting/estimating experience within the electronics industry.
- Extensive knowledge and experience in managing, negotiating, and creation of supplier contracts and world class supply programs.
