You will assist the Purchasing ManagerPurchasing Cut to Size Manager in quoting future projects and maintaining current projects to meet customers material needs and timeline. Your Accountabilities in theRole:
Maintains extensive product knowledge, emphasizing the product for which he/she is responsible. Inspect material upon arrival to ensure quality. Produce project specific drawings using AutoCAD. Generate project specific quotes. Create quote based on the drawings and factory pricing, using current freight, duty rates, tariffs, etc. Assemble quote packet and provide to the Sales Team. Analyzes purchasing reports to determine inventory requirements. Interprets inventory demand using system reports, keeping sufficient material on hand to meet the demand of the whole system and anticipating potential shortages. Works to develop solutions when stock is out. Stays current on regional issues that might affect the production or shipment of material at the source. Sources materials for sales and order desk staffs when primary source is out of stock, or when material is not a normally inventoried item.Position Requirements:
Experience:
2+ years of prior purchasing experience in construction. Prior work experience with stone, granite, or slabs is a plus.Education:
High School diploma or equivalent.Functional Skills:
Exceptional customer service skills with the ability to provide individualized service. A self-starter who proactively finds solutions to meet our customer needs with an ability to multi-task to handle various methods of customer interaction/needs (in person, phone, other). Good attention to detail and accuracy with processing orders. Good math skills to calculate pricing, discounts, interest, along with the ability to apply concepts of basic algebra.Technology Aptitude/Other :
AUTOCAD experience needed.Language Skills:
Good written and excellent verbal communication skills to work with our customers (in person or by telephone) and to communicate with all levels of the organizationBenefits
