Job Description

Electrical Procurement Engineer Position Summary We are seeking Procurement Engineer with a strong background in electrical systems and technical sourcing. This role is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and procuring replacement electrical equipment—specifically generators/alternators and related components. The ideal candidate combines electrical engineering tasked with evaluating alternative component-level (sometimes small assembly-level) replacements for existing equipment that is obsolete (no longer made). Key Responsibilities Identify and source replacement electrical equipment by engaging with OEMs, manufacturers, and suppliers Contact alternator/generator manufacturers to evaluate available replacement options Review and analyze vendor proposals, technical data sheets, and specifications Perform technical evaluations to determine: Compatibility with existing systems (form, fit, and function) Electrical output (voltage, frequency, load capacity) Support RFQ/RFP processes, including vendor qualification and bid evaluation Ensure compliance with project specifications, industry standards, and site requirements Assist in resolving obsolescence issues by identifying suitable replacement components Maintain documentation of technical evaluations, vendor communications, and procurement decisions Required Qualifications Bachelor's Degree in Electrical Engineering or related field 5+ years of experience in electrical engineering, procurement, or sourcing Strong knowledge of: Generators/alternators Electrical systems (voltage, power output, frequency, load analysis) Proven ability to evaluate replacement equipment for compatibility and performance Experience working directly with OEMs and equipment manufacturers G.D.
