Job Overview Astro Plumbing Supply is a wholesale distributor of plumbing supplies that has served Southern California for over 50 years. As our family business continues to grow, we are seeking a qualified individual to be a valued part of our team. We are looking for a dependable, detail-oriented Buyer to join our team. This position will play a key role in managing day-to-day purchasing, maintaining appropriate inventory levels, receiving purchase orders, and helping ensure our warehouse and sales team have the products they need to serve customers efficiently. This is an opportunity to join a growing team and take on a meaningful role in improving our purchasing and inventory operations. The right person will have the opportunity to grow with the company and take on increasing responsibility as we expand. Duties

• Purchase inventory and special-order materials from vendors
• Monitor inventory levels and help maintain appropriate stock levels
• Review purchasing needs based on sales activity, inventory availability, and upcoming demand
• Follow up with vendors on pricing, availability, lead times, backorders, and deliveries
• Create and manage purchase orders
• Coordinate incoming shipments and material receiving
• Work with the warehouse team to investigate receiving discrepancies, shortages, and damaged materials
• Verify that received material matches purchase orders and vendor documentation
• Tag and locate special order material for will advise sales orders
• Help manage vendor returns, credits, and purchasing discrepancies
• Maintain accurate product, vendor, cost, and purchasing information in our system
• Work closely with sales, warehouse, accounting, and management teams
• Identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, inventory management, and operational efficiency Qualifications
• 5+ years experience or knowledge of plumbing products, purchasing, buying, inventory control, supply chain, distribution, or wholesale operations preferred
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
• Comfortable communicating and negotiating with vendors
• Strong problem-solving and follow-up skills
• Good computer skills and experience with ERP or inventory management systems preferred. Experience with Eclipse ETERM or Solar is a plus
• Experience in the plumbing, construction supply, HVAC, electrical, or related wholesale industry is a plus, but not required
• Self-motivated, dependable, and able to take ownership of responsibilities Physical requirement: Must be able to lift to 40 pounds.
