We provide doors, frames, hardware, access control, and security solutions for commercial construction projects. OTI operates across offices in Pittsburg, Concord, and El Cajon, and we're growing through both new projects and acquisitions. About the Role We're hiring a Purchasing Specialist to manage buying for construction materials, hardware, and supplies. This role is based out of our Concord office and supports purchasing for all of OTI's divisions, including Building Services, Contractor Services, and Exterior Solutions. You'll track purchase orders from request to delivery, build strong vendor relationships, and keep project teams stocked and on schedule. This role is great for someone who already has solid purchasing experience and wants to grow it in the specialty construction industry. What You'll Do Source and purchase materials, hardware, and supplies for active construction projects across OTI's divisions. Create, issue, and track purchase orders from request through delivery. Build and maintain vendor relationships, and negotiate pricing and delivery terms. Track order status and expedite deliveries to prevent project delays. Compare vendor quotes and pricing to help control project costs. Resolve discrepancies in orders, invoices, and shipments. Maintain accurate purchasing records and documentation. Coordinate with project managers, estimators, and field teams on material needs and timelines. Monitor inventory levels for commonly used materials and supplies. Support monthly reporting on purchasing activity and spend. What You Bring 5+ years of experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain coordination. Strong vendor negotiation and relationship management skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and purchasing or ERP software. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Clear written and verbal communication skills. Nice to Have Experience in construction, building materials, or specialty contracting. An associate's or bachelor's degree in business, supply chain management, or a related field.
A note on hardware experience:
No prior experience with door, frame, and hardware (DFH) products is required. We'll train you on our product lines. This is a full-time, in-office role based at our Concord office on Forni Drive. It is not eligible for remote or hybrid work.
