JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Procurement Managing the procurement process from order placement to delivery. Managing pricing and terms for all products for assigned commodities, vendors, and projects. Ensuring that pricing and terms for new products are sensical and in-line with similar existing products. Managing and negotiating product and vendor lead-times to minimize company liabilities and secure maximum flexibility in the supply chain. Supply Chain Management Managing inventory levels by item to ensure target inventory turns are achieved while preventing out-of-stocks. Understanding and applying the concepts of item-level MRP attributes to day-to-day responsibilities. Optimizing landed-cost and all other supply-chain considerations to improve costs, efficiency and gross margins without disruption to inventory levels. Sourcing Analyze and differentiate between vendors to make strategic sourcing decisions in both domestic and international markets. Vetting potential suppliers for resourcing and/or new products. Applying commercial concepts and analysis to awarding new product to vendors. Compliance & Documentation Work with internal colleagues to ensure the supply chain meets ISO, IATF, and customer requirements consistently. Work with internal colleagues to document and record vendor performance in areas such as on-time delivery, quality defects, chargebacks, and RTVs. Other Routinely participates in complex sourcing, strategy and costing initiatives. Routinely participates in ad hoc commercial analysis and discussions. Qualifications 3+ years of relevant work experience that would lead to 1) successful development and use of the skills typical of a Buyer and 2) skillsets to handle the job responsibilities outlined above. Thoroughly understands ERP and MRP systems and the range of inputs and range of outputs that can occur, and the reasons why. An expert at converting large data sets into action items, whether it is in preparation for vendor meetings or a PO. This includes being an expert at Excel, data structure, and data mining. A commercial mindset for the range of outcomes and technical issues that need to be managed to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of product. Attention to detail, well organized, good communications, problem solving, and able to multi-task in a fast-paced environment. 4-year degree or relevant experience (supply chain/procurement) Pay range is 75K to 85k DOE Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.
