Sourcing Specialist Position Summary The Sourcing Specialist is responsible for identifying, evaluating, and negotiating with suppliers to secure goods, materials, and services at the best overall value. Working under the guidance of Commodity Managers and the Sourcing Council, this role supports strategic sourcing initiatives through supplier management, market analysis, cost-reduction efforts, and procurement process improvement while ensuring quality, compliance, and supply chain continuity. Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management Maintain an accurate and up-to-date Approved Vendor List (AVL) and Approved Supplier List (ASL) in accordance with established processes and procedures. Maintain supplier records, documentation, certifications, and related files to ensure compliance and data accuracy. Support and/or conduct supplier qualification and pre-screening activities to identify alternative sources of supply based on risk mitigation, cost reduction opportunities, capacity requirements, and business needs. Conduct market research and supplier evaluations to support commodity strategies and optimize supplier selection. Develop, issue, and manage Requests for Quotation (RFQs) for goods and services. Analyze RFQ responses and supplier proposals based on cost, quality, delivery, performance history, risk, and other award criteria. Prepare sourcing recommendations and quote comparison analyses to support supplier selection decisions. Negotiate pricing, terms, delivery schedules, and commercial agreements with suppliers. Monitor supplier capacity, capabilities, and performance to ensure effective allocation of business and continuity of supply. Build and maintain strong, long-term supplier relationships. Supplier Performance & Compliance Develop supplier metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor supplier performance. Support quarterly supplier business reviews and vendor performance evaluations. Assist in resolving supplier-related issues through corrective action plans, alternate sourcing strategies, and contract compliance monitoring. Coordinate with Supplier Quality and Quality Assurance teams to ensure suppliers maintain approved status and meet quality requirements. Arrange and facilitate supplier meetings, audits, negotiations, capability assessments, and performance reviews. Track supplier contracts, renewals, amendments, and extensions to ensure compliance and continuity. Procurement Analysis & Continuous Improvement Analyze spending patterns, sourcing opportunities, and outsourcing activities to identify cost-saving and process improvement initiatives. Evaluate and improve procurement processes, supplier agreements, logistics arrangements, and workflow systems. Provide recommendations based on data analysis to support operational efficiency and strategic sourcing objectives. Support site buyers and procurement specialists as required. Collaboration & Business Support Collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and stakeholders at all organizational levels to achieve business objectives. Respond to internal and external customer requirements with urgency and professionalism. Support company objectives by achieving the highest delivered quality at the lowest total cost. Establish goals aligned with organizational priorities and adapt to changing business needs. Take initiative in developing innovative solutions, processes, and sourcing strategies. May provide functional leadership and guidance on assigned projects when required. Qualifications Education Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience. Experience Minimum of 3-5 years of direct sourcing, procurement, or supply chain experience. Experience working within AS9100 and AS9102 quality management environments. Experience with Boeing and Airbus commercial aircraft supplier and contract requirements. Knowledge and Skills Strong strategic sourcing, supplier management, and negotiation skills. Knowledge of Boeing and Airbus specifications for aircraft seating systems. Ability to analyze market conditions, supplier performance, and procurement data. Experience developing and managing RFQs and supplier evaluation processes. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel, and data analysis tools. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Work Environment & Additional Requirements Ability to work extended or irregular hours as business needs require. Ability to travel domestically and internationally, including short-notice travel, to support supplier sourcing and management activities.
