Position Summary The Administrative Assistant / Purchasing Manager provides administrative support to laboratory management while overseeing purchasing, inventory, vendor relationships, and controlled documentation. The ideal candidate has experience working with Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), technical documentation, and laboratory operations or manufacturing quality systems. Essential Responsibilities Purchasing & Inventory Purchase laboratory supplies, chemicals, standards, consumables, office supplies, and equipment. Obtain vendor quotes and negotiate pricing when appropriate. Track purchase orders and deliveries. Maintain inventory levels to ensure uninterrupted laboratory operations. Develop and maintain strong vendor relationships. Quality Documentation Assist with maintaining controlled Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Format, revise, distribute, and archive-controlled documents. Ensure documentation complies with laboratory quality system requirements. Assist with document control during internal and external audits. Help maintain training records and quality documentation. Laboratory Support Become familiar with environmental laboratory terminology and EPA analytical methods. Assist laboratory management with maintaining compliance documentation. Coordinate calibration certificates, certificates of analysis, equipment manuals, and related records. Support special projects as assigned.
