Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Buyer/Material Specialist to join our procurement and supply chain team. In this role, you will be instrumental in managing the sourcing, purchasing, and inventory control of materials essential to our operations. Your expertise will ensure seamless supply chain management, vendor relationship development, and efficient utilization of ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) systems. Duties Collaborate with internal departments to determine material requirements and procurement priorities. Utilize ERP systems for purchase order creation, tracking, and inventory management. Conduct direct negotiations with vendors to secure optimal pricing, delivery terms, and quality standards. Manage vendor relationships through effective communication, performance evaluation, and sourcing strategies. Monitor inventory levels using supply chain management tools and implement inventory control measures to prevent shortages or excess stock. Analyze Excel data and spreadsheets to identify procurement trends, pricing fluctuations, and cost-saving opportunities. Support purchasing management systems by maintaining accurate records of procurement activities and ensuring compliance with company policies. Experience Proven experience in materials management, purchasing, or supply chain roles within a manufacturing or distribution environment. Familiarity with ERP systems. Strong understanding of procurement processes including sourcing, vendor negotiation, inventory control, and supply chain logistics. Demonstrated ability to analyze data using Excel for pricing strategies and procurement decision-making. Experience working with purchasing management systems and accounting software to streamline procurement workflows. Excellent vendor communication skills with a focus on building long-term supplier relationships. Knowledge of MRP (Material Requirements Planning) systems and direct negotiation procurement practices is advantageous.
