Job Description
Job Summary A growing consumer packaged goods manufacturing and import operation is seeking a Bilingual Mandarin Buyer to support purchasing, international supplier coordination, and import supply chain activity in Norwalk, CA. This direct hire opportunity is ideal for a detail-oriented purchasing professional who enjoys vendor follow-up, shipment tracking, inventory coordination, and working with cross-functional teams to keep products moving efficiently. The Bilingual Mandarin Buyer will work closely with overseas suppliers, freight forwarders, customs brokers, warehouse teams, sales, accounting, and management. This role offers a collaborative environment, supportive leadership, and exposure to international purchasing, food products, import logistics, and supply chain operations. Depending on experience, candidates may be considered at a junior or senior level. Key Responsibilities
- Assist with or manage purchase orders for assigned products, vendors, and categories.
- Communicate with domestic and international suppliers regarding pricing, availability, lead times, production status, and shipment updates.
- Coordinate with freight forwarders, customs brokers, shipping partners, and internal teams to support timely product movement and delivery.
- Track international shipments, container status, estimated arrival dates, delivery schedules, and related documentation.
- Monitor inventory needs, reorder timing, product availability, supplier pricing, freight costs, and landed cost details.
- Maintain accurate purchasing, supplier, product, cost, shipment, food safety, compliance, and import-related records. Compensation and Benefits
- Salary range: $60,000 to $80,000 per year.

Location:
Norwalk, CA. Required Qualifications and Skills- Manage or support purchasing activity for assigned vendors, products, and categories.
- Coordinate supplier communication, purchase order follow-up, shipment tracking, and import documentation.
- Support inventory planning, reorder timing, landed cost review, and cross-functional purchasing needs.
- Help resolve shipment delays, vendor issues, product discrepancies, and documentation concerns.
- 1 to 5+ years of experience in purchasing, buying, procurement, supply chain, logistics, import/export, or related administrative support.
- Bilingual Mandarin skills preferred for communication with overseas suppliers.
- Strong Excel and reporting skills.
- Strong follow-up skills with the ability to manage multiple vendors, shipments, deadlines, and details.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- Highly organized, dependable, detail-oriented, and comfortable working in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to coordinate effectively with sales, warehouse, accounting, management, suppliers, and logistics partners. Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with overseas suppliers, freight forwarding, shipping, customs, or import logistics.
- Food, beverage, consumer packaged goods, wholesale distribution, manufacturing, or import/export experience.
- Experience reviewing supplier pricing, freight costs, landed cost details, and purchasing records.
- SAGE experience.
- Food safety, supplier documentation, product specifications, or import compliance documentation experience.
- Experience supporting product development, sourcing projects, samples, supplier quotes, and vendor capability reviews.
