Job Description
We are seeking a detail-oriented, organized, and experienced Cannabis Retail Purchaser to join our team. The Purchaser will analyze inventory sell-through, identify purchasing needs, and ensure the store maintains the right variety, product mix, and stock levels to meet customer demand while staying within budget. This role requires a proactive approach to inventory management. The Purchaser will continuously monitor inventory flow, identify aging and slow-moving products, and work closely with the District Manager to develop and execute strategies to improve sell-through and minimize inventory aging. The Purchaser must take initiative, anticipate inventory needs, and stay on top of product movement from purchase to sale. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of cannabis products and state compliance requirements. They are confident building and maintaining strong vendor relationships and can balance product quality, pricing, customer demand, inventory levels, and profitability when making purchasing decisions.
The Purchaser will also be responsible for budtending when needed. This includes cash handling, customer service, and extensive product and sales knowledge.
•Key Responsibilities
• Prepare and place purchase orders while maintaining accurate purchasing records. Monitor inventory levels, sell-through rates, margins, and product performance to optimize purchasing decisions. Coordinate with vendors regarding deliveries, invoices, discrepancies, damaged products, and returns where permitted. Ensure all purchasing activities comply with applicable cannabis laws, regulations, licensing requirements, and company policies. Maintain accurate documentation and records required for regulatory compliance and internal reporting. Qualifications 1+ year(s) of cannabis purchasing, buying, and inventory management. Strong knowledge of cannabis products, brands, categories, and market trends. Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Experience using POS, inventory management, purchasing, or ERP systems. Proficiency with Google Workplace, including Sheets. Exceptional attention to detail and organizational skills. Ability to analyze sales and inventory data and make data-driven purchasing decisions. Ability to manage multiple vendors, deadlines, and priorities in a fast-paced environment. Must meet all applicable state and local requirements for working in the regulated cannabis industry. Ability to pass any required background checks or obtain/maintain required cannabis industry credentials.
Pay:
$20.00 - $22.00 per hour Expected hours: 25.0 - 40.0 per week
