Essential Duties and Responsibilities The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:
Sourcing and Vendor Management:
Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on price, quality, reliability, and speed of delivery.
Negotiation and Contracting:
Negotiate contract terms, pricing, and payment schedules with suppliers to secure the best value for the organization.
Order Processing:
Prepare, review, and process purchase orders and requisitions for raw materials, equipment, or supplies.
Inventory Control:
Monitor inventory levels, track orders, and forecast future demand to prevent shortages or overstocking.
Quality Assurance:
Review incoming shipments to ensure they meet the quality, quantity, and specifications ordered, resolving any discrepancies with vendors.
Record Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, supplier performance, and inventory data.
Market Analysis:
Keep up to date with market trends, new products, and price changes to adjust purchasing strategies. The essential functions will be used to purchase office supplies, forklift supplies, warehouse supplies, shipping supplies and other items as needed. Logistics knowledge a plus. Other duties as assigned. ​Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities) High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required. College degree preferred. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals Ability to write routine reports and correspondence Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form Ability to deal with problems involving several specific variables in generally standardized situations. Must have good phone skills and interact well with others Must have basic knowledge of Microsoft Office. Must be able to multitask and have high energy. Must be able to work effectively and productively without supervision.
