Full Job Description Description:
Balanced Body is looking for a detail-oriented, high-energy Jr Buyer to join our fast-paced manufacturing team in Sacramento. Working closely with our Purchasing Manager and senior buying team, you'll help keep our production lines running by supporting the flow of raw materials and helping resolve supply chain hiccups as they come up. The ideal candidate isn't just an office worker — you're comfortable walking the production floor, working with the manufacturing crew on quality issues, and using Excel to organize and track data. This is a great opportunity for someone early in their purchasing or supply chain career to grow into a full buying role, with mentorship from our senior team along the way. What you'll do
Production Support:
Generate and process purchase orders for raw materials (wood, steel, hardware), MRO supplies, and specialized components, helping maintain strong part availability for our manufacturing lines.
Issue Resolution:
Work alongside Production, Engineering, and Quality teams to help track down supplier non-conformance issues and support timely resolution of part discrepancies.
Supplier Support:
Maintain open order reports, monitor for late deliveries, and help expedite materials as production schedules shift. -
Data Support:
Help maintain MRP system data (lead times, re-order points, MOQ) under guidance from the senior buying team, and assist Accounting in tracking down price or quantity variances.
Inventory Tracking:
Monitor inventory levels using our Kanban and Blanket order systems, flagging potential stockouts or excess to the team.
Requirements:

Excel Proficiency :
Comfortable working in Microsoft Excel, including basic formulas, VLOOKUPs, and pivot tables — and eager to build on these skills.
ERP/MRP Exposure :
Some exposure to ERP systems and Bills of Materials (BOM) preferred; training will be provided. Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is a plus.
Manufacturing Curiosity:
Eagerness to learn how raw materials move through production and become finished product (e.g., reading Where-Used reports).
Communication:
Comfortable talking with both shop floor staff and outside vendors, and not afraid to ask questions.
