Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a Buyer III for an immediate start in Torrance, CA!
Pay:
$50/hr. - $56/hr.

Torrance, CA Job Responsibilities:
Purchase goods, materials, and services to support company operational needs while ensuring continuity of supply. Negotiate with suppliers to obtain the best pricing, quality, and delivery terms. Manage the Request for Quote (RFQ) process, review MRP reports, place and maintain purchase orders, and track orders through completion. Resolve invoice discrepancies, quality issues, and delivery concerns with suppliers. Perform procurement activities ranging from low-value purchases to high-value and complex negotiations. Monitor supplier performance and support cost reduction initiatives. Meet departmental KPIs including on-time order placement, supplier on-time delivery, inventory management, and cost savings. Work closely with planning, engineering, production, accounts payable, quality management, and leadership teams. Provide early supplier engagement during development phases to support project and engineering teams. Support new program launches and sourcing strategy initiatives through project management. Communicate material concerns or supply issues to program teams and leadership as they arise. Analyze procurement data, supplier trends, and recommend long-term purchasing strategies.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor's degree or 8+ years of procurement experience. Experience working with ERP systems such as Oracle. Strong Microsoft Office skills with advanced proficiency in Excel. Experience working in cross-functional team environments. Understanding of government compliance requirements including FAR, DFAR, ITAR, CUI, and CSI. Minimum 5 years experience supporting
DCMA CPSR
requirements, PO justification documentation, and PO folder creation. Knowledge of procurement metrics such as supplier open order reports, past due PO follow-up, on-time order placement, supplier on-time delivery, and material exception reporting. Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with the ability to prioritize tasks independently. Experience with planning, supplier negotiations, and contract management. Technical sourcing knowledge including machined parts, sheet metal, electronics (active/passive), CCA/PCBA, cables, connectors, hardware, displays, software, and build-to-print components. Experience sourcing electronic components through manufacturers, FAEs, or internet-based suppliers.

Understanding of buyer purchase terms and conditions. Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced environment with multiple deadlines. Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations, or Engineering. 12+ years of government procurement experience. Advanced knowledge of CPSR requirements. Extensive experience with government procurement regulations and compliance.
