These standards, for general manufacturing and aerospace, respectively, demonstrate our commitment to quality and improvement over time. We are in the midst of expanding and are looking for an excited individual to join our team. Our customer base is growing, and we are looking for someone to join our family-like team! Job Description Material Purchasing Specialists Responsibilities include reviewing requisitions, sourcing suppliers, issuing POs, expediting orders, and managing supplier relationships to meet cost and availability targets. Working closely with Operations Managers and the Production Manager to meet production deadlines and customer needs while multitasking and prioritizing in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. Responsibilities
  • Identifies potential suppliers and issues requests for quotations.
  • Coordinates with vendors and suppliers to track deliveries and resolve discrepancies.
  • Analyzes and selects suppliers, issues purchase orders; follows up and expedites as necessary.
  • Develops, evaluates and manages supplier relationships to accomplish material cost, availability, and inventory goals. Investigates and qualifies suppliers.
  • Tracks trends in industry, with key competitors, noted high-performing companies and the worldwide economy, understanding their impact on and relevance to the business.
  • Supports production/new production introduction activity by serving as a member and/or materials resource on product development teams.
  • Conducts analysis and correction of price discrepancies utilizing accounting business partnerships. Leverages management input to ensure target levels are achieved to maximize profit margins.
  • Remains current with product knowledge, pricing, services, and market/industry trends.
  • Follows guidelines and policies for Cybersecurity, and operational security.
  • Takes initiative when required to maintain costs, quality, or service to customers.
  • Assist in all Continuous Improvement efforts to improve quality, cost, and service to customers. Requirements
  • Must have 2-3 years of experience in the material purchasing field. LCS Certification is a plus and will be a required certification at a future date.
  • Prior experience working in the manufacturing field under AS9100 and ISO9001 quality systems.
  • Working knowledge of metal manufacturing, operations, and services.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting drawings and technical information, including but not limited to geometric dimensioning & tolerance.
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office products.
  • Detail- and task-driven work ethic with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong math, verbal, and written communication skills in industrial equipment, manufacturing processes, or engineered systems
  • Analytical, with the ability to develop and implement solutions and improvements.
