The Entry level Associate Buyer serves as a key liaison between manufacturing operations and supplier partners, ensuring material availability to support business needs. In this role, you will analyze ERP requirements, issue purchase orders, and monitor delivery performance. You will work closely with suppliers to resolve quality or delivery issues and support cost-savings initiatives through negotiation and contract implementation. This position plays a critical role in managing supplier relationships, tracking performance against key metrics, and driving continuous improvement. The ideal candidate brings a strong sense of urgency, excellent communication skills, and a desire to make an immediate, meaningful impact. The hours are 8:00 - 5:00 pm.
Your Responsibilities Will Be:
Issue purchase orders to approved suppliers to procure materials at the lowest total cost while meeting quality, reliability, and delivery requirements Analyze supplier quotations, select vendors, enter purchase orders, and coordinate delivery schedules Monitor open purchase orders and proactively expedite deliveries as needed Resolve supplier quality, delivery, and performance issues in collaboration with internal stakeholders Build and maintain strong, productive relationships with internal customers and supplier partners Analyze data and prepare reports; provide recommendations related to inventory levels, safety stock, and forecast consumption
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma or GED required; Bachelor's degree preferred 1-2 years of experience in supply chain, procurement, or a related field Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel ERP systems Purchase orders and inventory management Machines and parts used in metal fabrication Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills

Requirements This position typically requires standing, walking, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, pushing, pulling, lifting, fingering, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, seeing, and performing repetitive motions. Requires sustained mental and visual attention to perform complex tasks with a high degree of accuracy Must meet company attendance standards
Physical Demand :
Light to moderate work, involving exertion of up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and up to 5 pounds frequently. Work Environment This role is based in a manufacturing environment. Incumbents may be exposed to moving mechanical parts, electrical currents, vibrations, fumes, odors, dust, gases, chemicals, oils, extreme temperatures, inadequate lighting, confined spaces, and high noise levels. Occasional travel may be required.
