Job Description
Hoerbiger is seeking a Segment Buyer to manage strategic sourcing and purchasing for key product segments in our manufacturing operations. In this role, you will analyze demand, source qualified suppliers, negotiate contracts, and ensure on-time delivery of components supporting compression, drive, and mechatronic systems. You will collaborate closely with engineering, production, and quality teams to meet cost, quality, and safety targets. This position suits a data-driven buyer with strong ERP skills, experience in industrial or manufacturing environments, and a passion for reliable, sustainable technical solutions in a global setting. Responsibilities Manage strategic sourcing and purchasing for assigned product segments Identify, qualify, and develop suppliers to meet cost, quality, and delivery targets Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts with key suppliers Analyze demand, inventory, and lead times to optimize material availability Collaborate with engineering and production on specifications and change management Monitor supplier performance and drive corrective actions and continuous improvement Use ERP/MRP systems to manage purchase orders and data accuracy Support cost-reduction, localization, and sustainability initiatives Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and corporate procurement standards Coordinate with global and cross-functional teams on sourcing projects Required Skills Strategic sourcing Supplier negotiation Contract management Cost analysis and cost reduction ERP/MRP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, or similar) Demand planning and forecasting Supplier performance management Data analysis and Excel Knowledge of manufacturing processes and BOMs Inventory and lead time management
