Full-Time | In-Person | Salary Based on Experience About Us Evolution Trailer is an industry leader in custom welded aluminum boat trailers. We specialize in engineering and building premier recreational trailers for boats exceeding 30 feet. In addition to our commercial client base, we proudly manufacture high-performance trailers for the US Navy, Coast Guard, and municipalities worldwide. Position Overview We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Purchasing Agent to optimize our supply chain and inventory management systems. In this role, you will oversee inventory levels, forecast demand, and execute strategic purchasing initiatives to minimize costs. You will act as the vital link between our suppliers, production management, and accounting teams to ensure seamless manufacturing operations.
Key Responsibilities Purchase Order & Supplier Management Execute POs:
Process purchase orders and manage supplier lifecycles from order confirmation to final delivery.
Track Lead Times:
Proactively follow up on deliveries to eliminate production downtime.
Negotiate Terms:
Source and evaluate new vendors to secure favorable pricing and terms.
Resolve Discrepancies:
Manage vendor issues regarding shipping errors, damaged goods, and billing discrepancies.
Maintain Records:
Keep comprehensive, historical supplier data and pricing logs.
Inventory Control & Warehouse Oversight Optimize Stock:
Maintain accurate inventory levels to prevent both shortages and excess materials.
Logistics Coordination:
Supervise the day-to-day operations of shipping and receiving.
Audits & Counts:
Implement regular inventory cycle counts and system audits to protect data integrity.
Strategy, Reporting & Accounting Support Financial Sync:
Support the accounting team by verifying invoice accuracy to ensure timely vendor payments.
Analyze Costs:
Prepare regular inventory and cost reports to identify strategic cost-saving opportunities.
Source Alternatives:
Propose and evaluate alternative materials or backup suppliers when required.
Job Qualifications Experience:
3+ years of dedicated purchasing and inventory management experience.
Software:
Proven proficiency with QuickBooks Accounting Software (QuickBooks Desktop strongly preferred).
Domain Knowledge:
Previous experience with manufacturing parts purchasing.
Physical Demands:
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. occasionally and sit/use a computer for prolonged periods.
Logistics:
