Click on How to Apply Junior Buyer The Junior Buyer is responsible for supporting procurement activities for the Maintenance and Production departments by sourcing and purchasing materials, spare parts, tools, office supplies, equipment, and services necessary to support plant operations. This role works closely with internal stakeholders and suppliers to ensure timely availability of materials, maintain accurate inventory levels, and contribute to cost-effective purchasing practices. Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Source, evaluate, and maintain relationships with suppliers for spare parts, tools, equipment, office supplies, and operational services.
  • Request, review, and compare quotations to ensure competitive pricing and favorable terms.
  • Create, process, and manage purchase orders while ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.
  • Coordinate with suppliers to track shipments, resolve delivery issues, and maintain service levels.
  • Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels of critical spare parts, consumables, and operational supplies.
  • Verify pricing, quantities, and product specifications before processing purchases and receiving materials.
  • Collaborate with Maintenance, Production, Warehouse, and Accounting departments to support purchasing needs and operational requirements.
  • Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor files, inventory data, and supporting documentation.
  • Update and maintain information within company purchasing, inventory, and ERP systems.
  • Monitor supplier performance and assist in resolving issues related to quality, pricing, delivery, or invoicing.
  • Track warranties, service agreements, and supplier documentation.
  • Identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with company purchasing policies and procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned. Additional Responsibilities
  • Provide administrative support to the Maintenance and Production departments as needed.
  • Assist with company-wide purchasing activities and special projects.
  • Foster positive working relationships with coworkers, suppliers, and business partners.
  • Support inventory counts, audits, and material reconciliation activities.
  • Coordinate with internal customers to ensure purchasing requirements are met efficiently.
  • Assist with vendor communications and follow-up activities.
  • Perform any other related duties as assigned by management. Qualifications
  • Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory control, warehouse operations, supply chain, or a related field.
  • Experience working with inventory management, materials planning, purchasing, or vendor coordination.
  • Manufacturing and/or food industry experience preferred.
  • High School Diploma required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • Proficiency with ERP, purchasing, inventory, or warehouse management systems.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Teamwork and Collaboration Physical Demands The employee must be able to occasionally lift and carry up to 30 pounds, move throughout the facility, operate office equipment, and communicate effectively in person, by phone, and electronically.
Work Environment This position operates primarily in an office environment with frequent interaction in manufacturing, warehouse, and maintenance areas. The employee may be exposed to varying temperatures, industrial noise, moving machinery, and warehouse traffic. Occasional weekend or holiday work may be required based on business needs.
