Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION
Reporting to the Production Planning Manager, the Procurement Specialist purchases, raw materials and supplies. A Procurement Specialist manages the ordering process and is responsible for ensuring timely orders and deliveries of materials and services in order to ensure that customer requirements are met. The main duties of a procurement specialist include planning and creating purchase orders to maintain adequate material flow based on forecasting. This includes following through POs to ensure timely deliveries, accurate receipts, and resolution of any supply issues to prevent material shortages or delays. This role requires excellent communication skills, strong analytical skills, and knowledge of the company s Enterprise Resource Planning system. A procurement specialist may track inventory and restock goods when needed. This role can also require an awareness of industry trends and new products, as it relates to working with demand planners and forecasters for future needs.
Responsibilities:
Track inventory and restock goods when needed.
Managing supply base:
Tracking and recording orders, receiving orders, and documenting arrivals. Placing and managing purchase agreements with vendors, ensuring complete PO documentation Resolution to issues of pricing-related invoicing issues. Work closely with multiple departments and/or cross-functional areas to troubleshoot and resolve problems on
Purchase Orders Skills:
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Good working knowledge of purchasing strategies. Strong analytical thinking and problem-solving skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business application software, purchasing, and resource planning systems.
Experience:
Oracle Microsoft Excel 3-5 years experience in procurement or a similar Degree preferred
