In this energetic role, you will manage procurement activities for metal building components, ensuring timely and cost-effective sourcing from trusted vendors. Your expertise will facilitate seamless inventory management, vendor relationships, and logistics coordination to support our manufacturing and construction projects. This position offers an exciting opportunity to influence project success through strategic sourcing and procurement practices, all while working in a fast-paced, collaborative environment committed to innovation and growth. Responsibilities Develop and execute purchasing strategies for metal building materials, aligning with project timelines and budget requirements. Utilize ERP systems such as SAP, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, and other purchasing management systems to process purchase orders, track inventory levels, and manage procurement workflows. Communicate effectively with vendors to negotiate pricing, delivery schedules, and terms that maximize value while maintaining strong vendor relationships. Coordinate with supply chain teams to optimize logistics, inventory control, and materials management across multiple projects. Analyze Excel data and spreadsheets to forecast needs, monitor supplier performance, and identify cost-saving opportunities. Support sourcing initiatives by evaluating supplier options through direct negotiation procurement methods and conducting vendor evaluations. Maintain accurate records of procurement activities, purchase orders, and vendor communications using accounting software and inventory management tools. Skills Proficiency in SAP ERP systems, JD Edwards, Oracle EBS, and AS400 for materials management and procurement processes. Strong understanding of supply chain management principles including logistics, inventory control, MRP (Material Requirements Planning), and sourcing strategies. Excellent vendor communication skills with experience in vendor negotiation and relationship management. Skilled in using spreadsheets (Excel) for data analysis, pricing comparisons, and procurement reporting. Knowledge of purchasing management systems (technically supported) to streamline procurement workflows. Ability to coordinate logistics efficiently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. Familiarity with accounting software related to procurement activities to ensure accurate record keeping.
