This position manages supplier relationships, negotiates pricing and terms, monitors market conditions, and coordinates with Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, and other departments to ensure materials are available on time and at competitive costs. Key Responsibilities Source and evaluate suppliers based on cost, quality, delivery, reliability, and capacity. Develop purchasing strategies and negotiate pricing, terms, and delivery schedules. Create, review, and maintain purchase orders and supplier records. Monitor open orders and follow up with vendors to ensure timely delivery. Maintain Open Order Reports (OOR) and provide status updates by line item. Determine purchasing quantities and timing based on production requirements, inventory, and demand. Coordinate new job order releases and purchasing requirements with Engineering. Maintain accurate purchasing and planning information in Excel and ERP/MRP systems. Work with Engineering, Manufacturing, Production, Receiving, and other departments to resolve material, delivery, and supplier issues. Monitor supplier performance, market conditions, pricing trends, and supply risks. Perform cost analysis, benchmarking, and supplier comparisons to identify savings opportunities. Develop alternative sources and mitigate potential supply disruptions. Coordinate incoming shipments and ensure materials are routed to the appropriate department. Track and report purchasing and supplier metrics and identify opportunities for process improvement. Qualifications 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, supply chain, or related experience, preferably in manufacturing. Experience with sourcing, supplier management, and purchase orders. Strong negotiation, communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills. Ability to analyze costs, pricing, market trends, and supplier performance. Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP/MRP or purchasing systems. Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities. Sound judgment and effective decision-making skills. Ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. Associate's or bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Business, or related field is preferred.
