What You'll Do
Replenish inventory utilizing Economic Order Quantity (EOQ) formulation with primary and secondary supply sources
Evaluate and negotiate with potential suppliers based on their product quality, cost, delivery times, payment terms and customer service
Obtains requirements by verifying, preparing, and forwarding purchase orders to suppliers; monitoring and expediting orders, as needed
Ensure receipts are processed on timely basis; verify and authorize payment of invoices or coordinate return of defective/incorrect merchandise
Contribute to Supply Chain goals where applicable
Track and report key functional metrics tracking overall cost reduction. Benchmarks, KPIs, and other data analytics will be used in order to meet or exceed departmental cost benefit goals, objectives, and spend measurements
Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned
What You'll Need
Minimum 3 years purchasing experience, preferably some purchasing experience within retail or construction industry
Understands business operations and needs
Identifies and evaluates issues and uses good judgement to implement appropriate solution
Ability to work as a team player in a fast paced multi-discipline environment, with strong work ethic, attention to detail, organizational and listening skills
Proficient in
Microsoft Office:
Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint
Strong communication Skills (verbal, written, listening) including ability to communicate effectively with all levels or organization
Must be able to read, write, and communicate in English
Your Education
High School Diploma or GED required
Bachelor's Degree strongly preferred
